The omnibox

TabOasis adds a keyword to Chrome’s address bar. It is the fastest route to a saved link when you are already typing a URL.

Using it

Section titled “Using it”
  1. Click into the address bar and type bm.
  2. Press Space or Tab. The bar switches to Search bookmarks: and TabOasis takes over the suggestions.
  3. Keep typing. Up to six matches appear, each labeled with its type.
  4. Press Enter on one to go there.

What it searches

It searches items in the profile you are currently in, matching on title, body or URL. Archived items are excluded.

It matches only what you type, does not rank results the way Spotlight does, and stops at six. For anything more involved, open the board and search there.

What Enter does

  • A bookmark opens its URL, in this tab or a new one depending on how you pressed Enter.
  • Anything without a single URL (a task, a note, or a tab group with several links) opens the TabOasis board instead, with that text already typed into Spotlight so you can act on it there.
