Keyboard shortcuts

One shortcut is registered with Chrome and can be changed. The rest work only inside TabOasis’s own pages and cannot be rebound.

The one browser-level shortcut

It is the only shortcut that reaches you on a page TabOasis does not own.

On the TabOasis board it opens the overlay. On an ordinary website it opens the overlay too, but only with a Pro license, with Spotlight search on web pages switched on, and with the extension allowed to run on that site. All three are required and none of them announces itself; see Spotlight search.

On the board

These work on the TabOasis new tab page. None of them fire while your cursor is in a text box, a text area, a dropdown or a rich-text editor; typing always wins.

To close Spotlight, press Esc. Both of the two-key combinations (Ctrl/⌘ + Shift + Space and Ctrl/⌘ + K) close it as well, so whichever one you opened it with will put it away again. / is the one that does not: with the overlay open your cursor is already in the box, so it types a slash, which is what you want when the thing you are looking for has one in it.

Shift + V cycles through the views you have enabled, and skips any that your plan has locked. If you turned Calendar off under Preferences → Enabled View Modes, it is not in the cycle. Focus is in the cycle too, when it is enabled and unlocked.

With all four views enabled the cycle always has somewhere to land, on any plan, because Kanban and Widgets are both free. Switch Widgets off and a free user on Kanban has only Calendar and Focus left, and both are Pro: the key opens the upgrade dialog and leaves you on Kanban. If instead there is nowhere to go because you switched the other views off yourself, the key does nothing.

Outside selection mode, Ctrl/⌘ + A is your browser’s ordinary select-all. It only means “select every card” once you are already in selection mode.

Inside Spotlight

Typing bm in the address bar and pressing Space hands the address bar to TabOasis. See The omnibox.
