Free vs Pro
The free plan is a whole bookmark manager, not a trial. Nothing expires, nothing is capped by count, and you are never asked for a card.

Pro is sold three ways: monthly, yearly, or a one-off lifetime license. All three cover the same list.
Three devices
Section titled “Three devices”A license covers three browsers running the extension at once. Signing in from a fourth does not fail; it signs the oldest of the three out. That browser is back on the free plan until it signs in again.
Signing in to the web dashboard does not use one of the three. You can see both lists (extension devices and dashboard sessions) and end any of them from Devices & sessions on the dashboard.
When a subscription ends
Section titled “When a subscription ends”Nothing you made is deleted or hidden.
- If the renewal is merely late, sync keeps working for three more days.
- A failed payment gets exactly the same three days, counted from the end of the period you had already paid for. Polar tries the card again two days in; if that goes through, nothing ever stops. You will get a Payment failed notice, and an email from Polar. Fix the card under Billing on the dashboard: Polar charges it again as soon as you save it, and Pro carries on once the payment clears. Polar keeps retrying for three weeks, so a payment that only clears after the three days brings Pro back rather than losing it for good.
- Past those three days, either way, sync stops on the next upload or download and the extension drops back to Free.
- Once sync stops, the board itself carries on exactly as before, and you can still export everything to JSON or Markdown.
- Whether sync is working or not, you can always see what the server is storing for you and delete it. See What we store and why.
- If you were in Calendar or Focus view, the board falls back to Kanban. A non-Blue color theme falls back to Blue. Every AI action except Fix Grammar & Spelling locks again.
- AI search and Sync to Chrome lock: the button stays where it was, with a padlock on it, and pressing it opens the upgrade dialog.
- Bookmark Health Check’s button is replaced outright, by a short description and an Upgrade to Pro button.
- Spotlight stops opening on other websites. The keyboard shortcut simply does nothing there. It still works on the new tab page, so if a shortcut you rely on goes quiet everywhere but the new tab, this is why.
- Profiles beyond the first are not deleted. You can still switch to them, edit them and export them. You just cannot create an eleventh, or a second one on Free.
