Pomodoro

There is a single Pomodoro timer in TabOasis. Start it in Focus view and the pill on the Kanban board is already counting down; pause it in Widgets and Focus view agrees. It also survives reloading the tab and closing the browser, because it works from timestamps rather than from a tick.

  • The pill, bottom right of the board. Click it for the full dialog with the ring, the controls and today’s session count. Hide it under PreferencesShow Pomodoro timer.
  • The Pomodoro widget in Widgets view.
  • The centre of Focus view.

Out of the box: 25 minutes of work, 5 minutes of short break, and a 15-minute long break after every 4 work sessions. When a session ends you get a two-tone chime and a browser notification, and the timer moves to the next session type.

The three buttons are reset, start/pause and skip.

Split across two places, both writing the same values:

The gear → Pomodoro Timer, from anywhere:

  • Work (min) — 1 to 120
  • Short Break (min) and Long Break (min) — 1 to 60
  • Sessions before long break — 1 to 10
  • Play sound on completion

Focus view → Settings panel, which repeats the durations and adds the three you cannot reach anywhere else:

  • Auto-start Break and Auto-start Focus — roll straight into the next session instead of waiting for you. Off by default; touching the timer in the meantime cancels the pending auto-start.
  • Focus Goal — minutes per week, 60 to 2400, which is what the Weekly Goal bar in the analytics panel measures against.

Focus view’s timer has a second mode, Stopwatch: count-up, with a lap button. It is for open-ended work where a 25-minute box is the wrong shape.

The stopwatch is not a Pomodoro. It does not advance the session count and it is not recorded in Focus analytics.
